Colin Sankey is an award-winning bass player and multi-instrumentalist from Vancouver, B.C.
Colin has a four-year degree from VCC School of Music and has played with the likes of Juno winner Hugh Fraser, multiple time Juno nominee Francois Houle, John Korsrud, Bryan Deans and the Plastic Acid Orchestra, and Miles Black.
Using the extended range of his six-string bass, he masterfully blends the skills of a virtuoso with the touch of an artisan, creating a soundscape that both excites and relaxes the audience.
His innovative use of loopers and effects pedals creates a complete sound reminiscent of a full band, which is not normally heard from bass players.
His solo bass techniques are modeled off the pioneering bass work of virtuosos such as Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, and Alain Caron.
Colin's work transcends genre, as he seamlessly jumps from songs such as "Night in Tunisia" by Dizzy Gillespie, to "In My Life" by the Beatles, to "Redbone" by Childish Gambino, all without missing a beat.
